tiptoeing around like cats on a shoestring
wondering where it all went and then you sing,
"why do we have to grow up, and be old?
why do we have to own up, and be told
to be a certain person and act a certain way?
we should just learn to love ourselves,
each other and live, and then maybe peace would stay."
making noise like birds tapping metal spoons
silently slithering like snakes through our minds
being ever so cautious, but oh so hasty just
like ogres in ballet flats
trees swaying like the never ending love
between mothers and their daughters
how do we all just sit back, so melancholy
as our lives just whirl around us
like the unpredictable, swirling cyclone
or confused flowers; indecicive waters
and always fluffy
always drifting
colors of the clouds

i suggest we learn to love ourselves before its made illegal.
when will we learn? when will we change? just in time to see it all come down.
